Emerald Vale Legal Services was founded by Joseph Taggart in 2013. Mr. Taggart founded Emerald Vale Legal because he loves working closely with clients and fighting for their best possible outcome in their cases.
Mr. Taggart brings a variety of skills and experiences to the table while representing his clients, having worked previously in many capacities at the Utah Attorney General’s Office, the US District Court of Utah, the Disability Law Center, and other private settings before founding Emerald Vale Legal Services. He is also involved with several community-oriented and charitable efforts. For example, he is the former chairman of the Utah Department of Human Services’ Disability Advisory Council.
Joseph Taggart graduated from the SJ Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah in 2012 where he also earned a Master of Public Administration degree. While in school he received several awards and scholarships including the Outstanding Student Award as voted by his classmates, the Leadership scholarship for three consecutive years, and the Pro Bono Certificate for providing outstanding pro bono legal representation to those in need.
Having grown up in the Salt Lake Valley, Mr. Taggart appreciates and understands Utah’s diverse cultures and values. Additionally, his experiences while studying and working in Europe and South America for six years helps him to utilize a broad perspective while assisting his clients.
In addition to his native English, Mr. Taggart communicates fluently in Portuguese and speaks basic Spanish.
